I ran across this today--a comment by atheist Christopher Hitchens to a Unitarian minister:
"I would say that if you don’t believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ and Messiah, and that he rose again from the dead and by his sacrifice our sins are forgiven, you’re really not in any meaningful sense a Christian."
How does this relate to 1 Corinthians 2:14?

I think 1 Corinthians 15:17 speaks to his quote even stronger. I have always wrestled in my mind with denominations that throw out basic orthodox tenants such as the resurrection……what is the point…? Join the Rotary…..I better stop now..

I re-read what I posted and my point wsn't clear. A lot of people think 1 Cor 2:14 says that non-Christians don't understand the Gospel--that they can't understand it. But Hitchens seems to get it, even though he doesn't believe it.
I think that 1 Cor 2:14 means that non-Christians dismiss the Gospel as foolishness, even if they understand it.
